On November 15th, the Hornets open their 2022-2023 season against the Smith Station Panthers. This will be the first season with Coach Douglas Moore since the 2019-2020 season.

The Panthers came into the game with a size advantage and athleticism. Bullock County had trouble with the Panther’s full-court pressure from the gate.

Turnovers haunted the Hornets early in the competition.

Throughout the game, they committed 23 turnovers. The home team had trouble on defense as they were slow closing out the corner three-point shooting of the Panthers.

The Hornets were down 76-56 in the season opener.

Coach Moore replied about being back as the head coach, “It feels good. We will be alright. We just need conditioning.

“We have to be in better shape. Some of us will have to play into it, and some will have to get into it in practice.”

Marlin Bouyer finished the game with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Keldrick Hurts with 14 points, four assists, and five steals, and Dominick Graves with 11 points.
