On November 11, 2022 at approximately 10:30 p.m., the resident of the 600 block of North Martin Luther King Boulevard called the Union Springs Police Department regarding someone in his home.

The resident stated his dogs were barking, which got him to look around the residence.

When the victim returned to his bedroom, he heard a noise coming from the bedroom next to him. This was when a shot rang out, hitting the victim. The victim returned fire in the direction where the shot came from.

Police arrived, noticed an open window, and entered the residence to find the victim with a gunshot wound. Medics were called and later transported the victim to a hospital in Montgomery for treatment.

Investigator Gary Lewis of the Union Springs Police Department processed the scene gathering prints and D.N.A. to be sent to the Lab in Montgomery. These prints led the Investigator to two people of interest.

On November 12, 2022, Investigator Lewis, Bullock County deputies, and other officers made contact and detained the two people of interest for questioning.

These two people of interest were developed as suspects and placed in custody without incident.

Gregory Kentai Jones, Black Male, age 22, a resident of Fort Gaines, GA, and Thomas Wilson, Black Male, age 33, a resident of Union Springs, AL, were charged with Attempted Murder and Burglary 1st. They both were placed in jail.
